Secondary Section – Sri Lankan International School Jeddah (SLISJ)
The Secondary Section (Grades 6–10) at SLISJ follows the internationally recognized Cambridge curriculum, providing students with a strong academic pathway while nurturing their personal growth. This stage develops higher-order thinking, independence, responsibility, and confidence — equipping learners with the skills needed for success in IGCSE and beyond.
Grade 6
Grade 6 marks the transition from primary to secondary education. Students begin to explore learning in greater depth, strengthen analytical thinking, and build independence in managing their studies.
Grade 7
In Grade 7, learners expand their reasoning and communication skills while applying knowledge in practical and collaborative settings. Curiosity, adaptability, and critical thinking are encouraged as they prepare for more advanced academic challenges.
Grade 8
From Grade 8, students are gradually trained for the Cambridge IGCSE. The focus shifts to building strong study habits, refining problem-solving skills, and preparing for external examinations. They begin to approach learning with greater discipline and long-term academic goals.
Grade 9
Grade 9 continues the structured preparation for IGCSE. Students develop resilience, research abilities, and effective time management while gaining confidence in examination techniques.
Grade 10
Grade 10 is the final stage of the Secondary Section and directly prepares students for the Cambridge IGCSE examinations. Emphasis is placed on academic maturity, independence, and critical analysis, ensuring learners are fully equipped to achieve success and smoothly progress to advanced levels.
