Primary Section – Sri Lankan International School Jeddah (SLISJ)
At SLISJ, the Primary Section (Grades 1–5) provides a strong foundation for lifelong learning through the internationally recognized Cambridge curriculum. Our approach focuses on developing essential skills such as communication, critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and independence. With a nurturing environment and progressive learning methods, we prepare children to grow with confidence and transition smoothly into the next stage of education.
Grade 1
In Grade 1, children take their first steps into structured learning. The focus is on developing listening, speaking, reading, and early problem-solving skills. They learn through guided exploration, gaining confidence in expressing themselves and adjusting to a formal school setting.
Grade 2
Grade 2 helps students strengthen their foundational skills while becoming more independent learners. They enhance their ability to communicate, reason, and collaborate with peers. Creativity and curiosity are encouraged through engaging classroom activities.
Grade 3
In Grade 3, learners begin to think more critically and apply their knowledge in practical ways. They develop stronger organizational skills, teamwork, and responsibility, while also learning to manage tasks with growing independence.
Grade 4
Grade 4 encourages analytical and reflective thinking. Students build resilience, leadership qualities, and problem-solving skills. They are guided to take more initiative in their learning, showing responsibility both inside and outside the classroom.
Grade 5
Grade 5 prepares students for the transition to the next stage of their education. They refine research and presentation skills, develop confidence in decision-making, and demonstrate maturity in handling challenges. The emphasis is on independence, self-motivation, and preparing for future success.
At SLISJ Primary, our goal is to create a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Through the Cambridge framework, children not only gain academic excellence but also grow into confident, capable, and compassionate individuals.
